Safe Asset Vision
This Rich Picture from 2015 was created to communicate the messages around NR's Safe Asset Vision- the massive investment that was being put into trackside access and general safety. I used the metaphor of a model railway being operated by the Network Rail senior asset management team.
The left hand side, with its more sombre, gloomy colour scheme represents the ‘old ways’; the right hand side the sunlit future state where everything is done properly. Although the images are simplified to fit in with the model train theme they do accurately represent the elements of infrastructure, train livery, hi-vis uniforms and street furniture as much was possible.
I never anticipated how time-consuming drawing that many railway sleepers would be With all the adjustments to perspective it was impossible to cut and paste as much as I had hoped.
